Welcome to Mingled Goods

Hello world! Welcome to the new home of Mingled Goods!

A little backstory: Mingled Goods is an evolution of my first self-named shop, Darci Towns Textiles, where, as I'm sure you can guess, my sole focus was on textiles. During the summer of 2017, following the sale of our second home, we had a temporary four month stay in my parents basement, prior to purchasing and moving into our current home, where my studio was completely packed away in a storage unit. I had a lot of time on my hands. After the vacation-like allure of the first couple of weeks had wore off, I decided to take my abundance of time as an opportunity to evaluate and explore everything in my business. Not only did I delve deep into my business, but I also did a bit of inner-discovery as well. Was I truly happy & fulfilled with what I was doing, or was there something more, something else I wanted? The short answer was no, I wasn't truly happy or fulfilled, and from this acknowledgement Mingled Goods was born.

Probably the longest I've ever prepared for anything (I'm a bit of a procrastinator), and I am elated to finally be able to share this labor of love with you and the world.

As with starting anything new, there can be feelings of fear and vulnerability. Especially when you essentially abandon your pursuits of the last two years. And while these feelings have surfaced at moments, I have never felt so confident & comfortable in what I am doing. As soon as I decided to shift my focus and explore other areas of interest, the ideas came pouring out. I filled a brand new sketch book in a matter of days and was eager to get to work on this new endeavor. It has been a long time coming.

Mingled Goods was born of the desire to use my hands more, work with materials I've longed to use, experiment with new shapes and forms and combinations, all while staying true to my continuous inspiration: nature.

And so I'm going to stop typing and ask that you explore the new site, the new shop, and, if you're so inclined, let me know what you think :)
